DKP BIBLE

Any gear obtained through DKP and is droppable, must be returned to the guild when that player receives an upgrade. The person returning the gear will receive a credit of 1/2 their initial DKP purchase price to encourage this good behavior. The purpose of this rule is to help keeping all of our members geared as quickly as possible and to keep the guild as a whole strong. Any person caught selling raid loot without authorization will have negative consequences - potentially guild removal. We are a family first oriented guild, and trying to promote betterment of the whole from gear obtained from raiding. (Updated 6/23/2017)

Wear your guild tag with pride, /role is fine, /anon is not - most people are /anon when doing something shady.... would you be doing it if Qenni was in your group? (Added 7/3/17)

The DKP posted on the website is what you have available when your item drops. Do not go negative in DKP. If you overstep this value you will be penalized, if an officer finds a bid that would result in negative DKP before the item is looted - the bid will be removed, and the previous high bid up to the negative causing bid will be used. The DKP awarded for the current raid is not usable until posted. (Updated 7/3/17)

The penalty for overbidding is double the amount of the deficit created (if not caught while in bid). For example, if you bid 10 on an item but only have 8 DKP to bid with you will have -2, thus your penalty will be -4 and end total will be -6. If someone is creating a trend at overbidding they will be addressed individually for that behavior as it will not be tolerated.

The highest bid wins regardless of seniority. However, officers have the power to step in and redirect loot assignment, regardless of who the highest bidder is. We do not expect this to happen frequently. But it might happen in situations when it’s in the best interest of guild progression for an item to live in the hands of a certain member.

Retracting bids is allowed but discouraged. If you do it, you will be charged 10% of what you bid. So please, bid with intent and don't be indecisive.

How to Earn DKP:

When you raid you will receive 1 DKP per hour.

Raid leaders can give up to .25DKP per death touch. (Updated 6/25/2017) (Updated 10/23/2017)

Certain mobs will give a DKP bonus when they are killed, refer to this sheet : FoR DKP bonuses (Updated 11/22/17)

Logs will be taken every hour. This is to ensure we get everyone that was there the points they deserve. If you feel you're missing points, please create a post in the @DKP in Discord and an officer contact you. Feel free to take logs yourself (/who guild) often as a backup copy - just make sure logs are enabled with /log.

Our log processor will not pick you up if you are LFG, /role, or /anon - so don’t be these things.

If you fail to have your character registered on the DKP site, and raid with that character, all DKP earned for those raids are forfeit - Add all your characters in the guild to the DKP site to avoid this mishap. (updated 7/3/2017)

If 13 members or more are at an event - this is now a DKP raid, please take logs, assign loot as a DKP raid, and send the logs to an office to get uploaded. (updated 7/11/17)

LOGGING RAIDS

The guild relies on EQ's logging functionality to track raid attendance and member performance.

If you are unsure whether a raid is an actual DKP event, ask an officer. If an officer confirms it being a DKP event, they need to be prepared to lead the event and award loot appropriately. If an event has raid worthy loot then it should be handled using the DKP system. If an officer cannot be reached or is unable to lead the raid, and it is a worthy DKP event, the members involved will choose a raid leader who will be responsible for the /log of the event, taking bids, and award loot appropriately. Any platinum items such as gems dropped during the course of the raid should be parceled to Qani or Hefty for the guild bank. Also parcel any droppable items to Qani or Hefty that are not needed by a regular member. They will discuss eligibility for any recruits present and decide how to distribute the items

If you are interested in becoming a raid leader, please get with Qani, Hefty or an officer for additional training. Here are some instructions on how you can log a raid yourself.

Logging is not enabled by default, but there is a method to enable it permanently. You do this by using the in-game command /log on. Logs are per-character and are found in your EQ File.

When a raid starts, type RAID START into any channel. During raid time, get multiple samples of /who each hour. We recommend you bind a frequently-used key to a /who command. When a raid ends, type RAID END into any channel.

When someone wins loot, announce it like this:

/gu Item=ITEM LINK,Player Name,Bid Amount

Lastly, send this log to the DKP Officer for processing and upload to the DKP site.

Ranks for spending DKP—Mains, Boxes, Alts, Recruits
(Message Lorglath to update any DKP characters to accurately reflect the definitions below)

MAINS—This character is your priority and so it is our priority too - One main per live body playing.

  • When playing your MAIN at a raid, you will get bidding priority over alts that want to bid for their main.
    • Only on RARE occasion when your ALT's class is specifically requested by the raid leader, you'll be given the opportunity for your ALT to bid against mains. If you choose to do this, you cannot bid for your actual MAIN that night (Added 7/30/17)

MAIN CHANGES:
All MAIN changes are subject to approval from leadership, and both characters must be MAX level for consideration. Once that approval has been obtained, the player may swap DKP pools with the new character and the member’s new MAIN will be charged a 30 DKP penalty and then will be charged twice the amount of DKP for a purchase similar to a BOX or ALT for the period of one month. A second MAIN change will be charged the 30 DKP penalty and twice the DKP for two months and so on... See bullets below... (updated 6/28/2017)(Updated 7/3/2017)(updated 7/11/17)
  • 1st main change - 30DKP & 2x DKP charged for first 30 days (no main changes in this time)
  • 2nd main change -30DKP & 2x DKP charged for first 60 days (no main changes in this time)
  • 3rd main change -30DKP & 2x DKP charged for first 90 days (no main changes in this time)
Fees may be waived for specific situations (switching from a main when you have spent 0 DKP, or swapping to a needed class - like Cleric) (Added 7/11/17)

These rules are not meant to be punishing, more to prevent a character from amassing DKP in a class where items can be purchased for 1 DKP and coming in and steamrolling an entire classes DKP bids. We are trying to be fair and this may change over time, with the intention of keeping things fair and balanced. (Added 7/11/17)

BOXES— Characters on a separate account from your main with a separate computer that can be logged on and played effectively for raids as needed - ONE BOX PER LOGIN ACCOUNT.
  • There will be a limit of ONE box per MAIN at a raid unless specifically requested by the raid leader in order to fill a class or numbers shortage. A player can play their BOX instead of their MAIN and not be booted from a raid, as long as the class of BOX is needed - still bids as a BOX. (updated 7/11/17)

  • A BOX may be asked to leave in order to make room for MAINS in spawned instances which have a player cap.

  • BOXES will earn equal DKP as the MAIN but their points will accrue separately. Therefore, you can not spend your Main DKP on your Box or vice versa.

  • BOXES will be allowed to bid against MAINS but will be charged twice the amount of DKP for the purchase. (e.g. If you bid and win an item on your BOX for 5 DKP you will be charged 10 DKP. A minimum bid of 1 for an item will be charged at 2 for a BOX)

  • BOXES can roll need for items against a MAIN if the item is to be rolled off. (Sky droppables, planar armor excluding BP/Legs ect..) (updated 6/25/2017)

  • BOXES bidding against a main are capped at 35 dkp for max bid (70 charge), however, are uncapped if its only boxes bidding. (Added 7/30/17)
ALTS— Characters on the same account as your MAIN (or BOX) that are used for raiding rather than your MAIN (or BOX).
  • Alts will be linked with the Main (or BOX) accounts on the DKP website and will accrue points together. They will also earn the same amount of DKP for each raid. (updated 7/11/17)

  • Alts will be NOT be allowed to bid against Mains or Boxes and will be charged the amount of DKP for the purchase from their Main/Alt DKP pool. To further clarify, if you are the first to bid, and bid 10 DKP for an alt, a MAIN can still come in and bid 1 DKP and beat your bid. (Edited on 7/27/17 to remove 2x penalty- Lorg)
Raiding with ALTS and BOXES:
  • Character must meet the raid's minimum level requirement.

  • Characters must be registered on the DKP website. Alts will be under your main character. Boxes will be registered individually.

  • Characters must have reasonable gear for the content difficulty.

  • ALTS should not be used when your MAIN class has a shortage for the raid.

  • ALT loot bids must be identified as ALT bids. MAIN and BOX item bids will always have priority.

  • ALTS may bid for their main - only if no other mains/boxes have bid, as long as getting gear to main doesn't slow the raid - please let the Raid Leader (RL) know you're playing an alt before the start of a raid (Edited 7/27/17 to make this more clear) (added to 7/30/17)

  • Officers reserve the right to request your MAIN due to event difficulty and/or class shortages.

  • Members interested in collecting rotting items for ALTS or BOXES not present on the raid should pre-park their characters close to the raid. If the raid requires an expensive spell reagent (hate), then the alternate should carry the necessary reagent or platinum to repay the guild bank. Progress of the raid will not be disrupted.
RECRUITS— Characters new to the guild who prior to their membership vote approval.
  • RECRUITS will earn DKP when raiding but will not be allowed to bid against a Main, Box or Alt. They will only be eligible for rot items and will either be charged a minimum or their winning bid amount against another Recruit.

  • The RECRUIT can be allowed to go into the negative on rotting no-drop non-multiquestable items only and may then continue to bid on items as a recruit going further negative, however, another recruit with a higher balance will be given loot priority, a RECRUIT with positive DKP will always win vs a one in the negative. Once a recruit is made full member, they will not be allowed to bid on any items even rotting ones until they go back into the positive dkp.

  • RECRUITS must meet the same level and equipment requirements as BOXES and ALTS.

How to Bid on an Item:

An officer will link the item in guild chat using the following macro to start the bid timer.
  • [ITEM LINK] START BIDS NOW

  • To place a bid link the item in guild chat along with your character status (MAIN, ALT, BOX, RECRUIT) and the number of DKP you would like to bid. It is not uncommon to have multiple bids ongoing at one time so members must link the item when they provide bids. If you want to exit the bidding process, then should mention in /rsay that you are exiting. When bidding for your BOX or ALT you should not add the DKP tax to the amount of your bid. It will be charged by the officer updating the website.
  • Bid Example: /rsay [ITEM LINK] Main 3.

  • Bid Exit Example: /rsay bandages out/cancel
When bidding you need to increase it by at least 1 point over the previous bid. If two people put up the same bid, the person who posted first wins that bid and person who came in second must increase it by 1 point or say “out.” You may be charged a DKP fee between 1 and 10 for failing to properly exit out of a bid at the raid leader/master looters discretion. Only points showing on the DKP site may be used, current raid points do not count until on the site.

When the officer will end the bid using the following macro
  • GOING ONCE

  • GOING TWICE

  • SOLD

  • /GU Item=[ITEM LINK],Player Name,Bid Amount
Bidding is over and the officer says SOLD, that's the end of it. If your bid comes after that… too slow.

Item will be awarded to highest bidder and will be checked to make sure that said person has the points, if they do not have the points, item goes to second highest bidder and so forth. Exceptions for newcomers may be deducted into negative DKP if they do not have the point available. *

Retracting bids is allowed but discouraged. If you do it, you will be charged 10% of what you bid. So please, bid with intent and don't be indecisive.

If an item is passed by all Mains, Boxes, Alts, and Recruits AT THE RAID. People at the raid can bid for Boxes and Alts of theirs that aren't present (still need to be of appropriate level, 46+ for sky loot as an example). They are responsible for getting to the raid and looting - if there is a cost - it is to be paid by the individual and shouldn't slow the raids progression. (Added 7/3/17)

Finally, if an item is passed on by all present at raid, the item is to be looted by an officer, senior member, or trusted member (in that order) and placed for bids up on the forum for a 1 week bid or until there is a clear winner. (Added 7/3/17)

DKP Item Exceptions
  • Epic Quests - General rule of thumb is open DKP bid for Epic pieces dropped on raids, its encouraged to let someone further along get a piece, but isn't mandatory. Triggered mobs will always be done for the benefit of the person doing the turn in. (updated 6/23/2017)

  • Quest items: Quest items may be distributed based on members progress in the quest giving preferences to players needing last piece. If multiple players are at the same point in a quest raid 30 day attendance and accumulated DKP will be used to determine who will receive the item. Triggered mobs will always be done for the benefit of the person doing the turn in.

  • Hate/Fear Planes Armor: Breastplates and Leg pieces from Plane of Hate and Fear will be distributed using the DKP bidding system. All other planes armor pieces will be offered for random first to full members giving priority to MAINS first. If no MAINs need the item the roll will be extended first to BOXES, then ALTS and finally RECRUITS will be allowed to random.

  • Miscellaneous: Leadership may opt to hold an item for guild use. This should be done sparingly but may be necessary occasionally in order for the guild to progress. They may also decide to prioritize loot to certain classes in order to maximize its use. (Example - Puppet Strings)

  • Player Cap Limits: Anyone who arrives on time for a raid but cannot join due to player cap limits will be WAITLISTED. They will accrue one half normal DKP while waitlisted. They must be able to enter the raid immediately upon request so please bind outside of the raid if you leave. If you are unable to join the raid immediately you will not be allowed to receive waitlist DKP for a month, increasing by 1 month for each infraction up to 3 months. After that you will be permanently banned from waitlist DKP.

  • Any OPEN WORLD raid target must be announced in /gu and anyone allowed to attend. If you have been tracking it for personal reasons, you must announce the loot rules up front before anyone agrees to help. If there is any conflict of interest (other people needing the item), or a total if 13+ characters in attendance, then it is to be run as an official DKP event, and DKP bid out all loot. (Added 8/15/2017)

DKP ITEM EXCEPTIONS: PLANE OF SKY ALTERNATE/TRIAL BASIS (2 WEEK TRIAL) LOOT RULES (added by Massamon 7/28)

Rule MOD 1: Optional DKP BID for SKY TRASH

A. Allow optional DKP bidding on currently rolled "trash/common" drops - ML WILL NOT CALL OUT BIDS.
Responsibility of the MEMBER to monitor Loot Window and put bids in GUILD CHAT

B. Members who are bidding for trash drops should post their item completion status in the bid. We discourage bidding for trash drops just to hoard them or have them, this optional bidding is put in place mainly for those who need common drops to complete quests

C. Following on the last point, encourage cooperation among classes for sky quest completion

Rule MOD 2:
4 ITEM PLANE OF SKY QUEST COMPLETION or THE "NO DROP RULE"
Item breakdown for 4 ITEM POSKY QUEST COMPLETION = (2 trash/common, 1 EFREETI, 1 NO DROP)

The "no drop" rule would only apply to 4 item completion category

2 TRASH ITEMS = ROLLED/OPTIONAL DKP BIDS
1 EFREETI LOOT = Preference/trump card given to a member bidding who already has the no drop piece. If 2 or more (AT THAT RAID) have the no drop piece = Bid war, if no one has no drop piece = bid war
1 NO DROP = Preference/trump card given to a member bidding who already has the efreeti piece. If 2 or more (AT THAT RAID) have the efreeti piece = bid war, if no one has the efreeti piece = bid war

Retarded acts that will result in DKP penalty

Retard awards are given out for laughable acts of foolishness. For example, arriving late and begging/demanding ports. Just pay a druid 50p for a port, or be proactive and log off at tomorrow's meeting point.
  • AFK during raids without saying anything in guild chat. We all have to AFK, but if you constantly do it and say nothing, you shouldn't be in attendance. AFK checks will commence at random.

  • Not in Discord during a raid. We don't require a microphone, but we do need you to listen.

  • Wipe raid because you were not following instructions.

  • Bidding DKP that you do NOT have is a huge no-no. Please check your DKP before bidding. A lot of items are No Drop, we all need gear, so please be respectful of your mates.

  • Loot whoring and looking for ways to exploit guild rules. This has always been taboo, so don't ever do it. Multiple offenses could result in guild removal. We need to be able to trust our members.

  • If you are found to be inactive on a DKP event you will be ineligible to bid on loot and may even receive a DKP penalty for abuse of the system. i.e. no AFKing in zone to get loot, be helpful to your friends and guildmates don't try to abuse the system.

Haste items
Main and box melees have priority on haste items. Casters and priests may bid if the raid leader allows it.

If you upgrade your haste item it is expected you return your previous item so that it can be handed down to someone else who needs it. You will be reimbursed part of that cost.

Minimum raid levels
For Classic era raids, you need to be level 50 or above.
For Kunark or Velious era raids, you need to be level 55 or above.

will bids be done in guildchat, raidsay, or both? the instructions say to bid in guild chat, the example bid is in rsay.

and for boxes, I'm assuming they need to actually have the dkp to cover twice the winning bid to win an item?

for example, a box bids and wins an item at 16. they have 25 total dkp. enough to win the bid, but not pay the "box tax" of double the dkp. are they eligible to win the item?

and just to clarify, I don't have an issue with the rule, just lookin for clarification~
Any item, in order to be won, you are required to have the amount of dkp to complete the transaction.

To further clarify, the box must have 32 DKP in order to bid 16

EDIT AFTER THE FACT: Removed the fact that the box would go negative. Boxes cannot go negative.

boxes must have enough dkp to win the item after the tax, they cannot go negative with their dkp to win.

Couple questions:

1) is the minimum DKP bid for all items going to be 1 dkp? Even, like, skyshrine robes vs gems dropped on raids?

2) what is the minimum that a guild function needs to be in order to be considered a 'raid'? does it require an officer present? On P99, we needed 2 groups to be considered a 'raid', so, for example, Dragon Necropolis Vilefang groups don't need to be a 'raid', but sometimes they were and sometimes they weren't, depending on who came. Is it the same? I am asking because I feel like this is exploitable for dkp boosts -- e.g. you could form a 2 group 'raid' for exp in the hole for 9 hours if the rules are flimsy.

Thanks,

Zz
Min DKP is 1, that said, certain common drops will be randomed - but skyshrine has historically always gone for at least 1 DKP

2. 13 or more players constitutes a raid where DKP must be logged.

** that being said - guild can call certain mobs Raid mobs - where even 2-3 people killing it would need to track DKP.

once a 'group' meets raid status it must be open to everyone wanting to attend, loot must be dealt with using the dkp system, all cash items need to be sent in after the raid to qenni/hefty for guildfunds. 13+ is the magic number. As always if players are found to be abusing the system there will probably be repercussions for that.

Clarification of main changes update.
Ranks for spending DKP—Mains, Boxes, Alts, Recruits

Several updates, I will again try and higlight them all in the quoted post below:

The DKP posted on the website is what you have available when your item drops. Do not go negative in DKP. If you overstep this value you will be penalized, if an officer finds a bid that would result in negative DKP before the item is looted - the bid will be removed, and the previous high bid up to the negative causing bid will be used. The DKP awarded for the current raid is not usable until posted.

How to Earn DKP:

Certain mobs will give a DKP bonus when they are killed, refer to this sheet : https://goo.gl/NEgYJL

If 13 members or more are at an event - this is now a DKP raid, please take logs, assign loot as a DKP raid, and send the logs to an office to get uploaded.

This change has 2 main components - boxes can bid against mains, but will be capped at a bid of 35 - see bolded info under boxes quoted below.

The second change - Alts may bid for their main char, but can not compete against MAINS at the raid (So it puts you on a bidding tier like this: Mains/Boxes > Alts bidding for their main > Alts > Recruits )- there has been some flux on that recently - this is now the way we will be operating

BOXES— Characters on a separate account from your main with a separate computer that can be logged on and played effectively for raids as needed - ONE BOX PER LOGIN ACCOUNT

The following changes to Sky were made on 7/28 but no quote post was made - see below.

Added some specific rules in engaging open world content.
DKP Item Exceptions
  • Any OPEN WORLD raid target must be announced in /gu and anyone allowed to attend. If you have been tracking it for personal reasons, you must announce the loot rules up front before anyone agrees to help. If there is any conflict of interest (other people needing the item), or a total if 13+ characters in attendance, then it is to be run as an official DKP event, and DKP bid out all loot. (Added 8/15/2017)
